Romans 9 Gods choice, not Grugs

(9:1-3)

Paul speak true in Christ.
Heart hurt big.
Sad always chew on Paul soul.

Paul almost wish self cursed if tribe-brothers maybe saved.

(9:4-5)

Israel tribe get many shiny gifts:

• son-place
• glory-fire
• law rules
• temple worship
• holy promises
• old father-men

Also Christ come from tribe flesh-line.

Christ above all things.
Christ God forever. Amen.

(9:6-8)

But promise-word no fail.

Not all Israel really Israel.

Not all Abraham seed true promise-child.

One child from flesh.
Other child from promise.

God count promise-child.

(9:9)

God say:

“At right moon-time, Sarah have son.”

Old cave-woman laugh.
Then baby happen anyway.

(9:10-13)

Then Rebekah have two tiny babies from Isaac.

Before babies do good thing.
Before babies do dumb thing.

God choose.

Not because work.
Because God call.

God say:

“Big brother serve little brother.”

Also:

“Jacob love.
Esau hate.”

Tiny Grug brain tremble.

(9:14)

Grug say:

“Wait. God unfair?”

No.

(9:15-16)

God tell Moses:

“God no club who God no club. God soft-heart who God soft-heart.”

So salvation no come from:

• Grug wanting
• Grug running
• Grug grinding

Come from God mercy only.

(9:17-18)

Pharaoh become example cave-painting.

God raise Pharaoh up to show:

• big power
• big name across earth

So:

God mercy some.

God harden some.

(9:19)

Then angry Grug grunt:

“If Grug can’t resist God will, why blame Grug?”

(9:20-21)

Tiny dirt-man should maybe hush.

Pot no yell at pot-maker:

“Why make Grug poop bucket?”

Maker choose:

• fancy feast bowl
• poop bucket

Same clay.

Maker decide.

(9:22-24)

What if God:

• endure wrath-pots long time
• while preparing mercy-pots for glory

Mercy-pots include:

• Jew
• Gentile
• random hairy forest people

God call many tribe.

(9:25-26)

Old prophet Hosea already grunt this.

God say:

“Not-my-people become My-people.”

People once unloved become beloved.

Dead valley become son-place.

(9:27-29)

Isaiah grunt warning.

“Even if Israel number like sand near big water: only few saved.”

If Lord leave no living Grug, Israel become ash-town like Sodom.

(9:30-32)

So what Grug learn?

Gentiles no chase righteousness mammoth.
Still catch by faith.

Israel chase law-mammoth many years.

Still hungry.

Why?

Israel trust own effort-stick.
Not trust faith.

(9:33)

Israel trip over stone.

God place stone in Zion.

Some smash face on stone.

But whoever trust stone never shame.

Stone = Christ.

Proud Grug build ladder to heaven, never get.

Wise Grug trust rock God place.
